The collaboration empowers the young generation with cybersecurity skills through precise educational content for “Cybersecurity for Juniors”, a new program that is part of ITI Cybersecurity Academy on Mahara-Tech. Taking a step further, Kaspersky will also provide 1000 participants with Safe Kids app subscriptions through this collaboration.

“The Internet has penetrated every aspect of our lives. So much, that it has blurred private and public boundaries, often putting the lives of people and children in danger. When it comes to children, we at Kaspersky strongly believe that early education is critical for building a safe and secure online environment. Our collaboration with ITI is another step in this direction and we aim to set a benchmark. We want to showcase the importance of partnership between the government and private companies to harness the benefits of being cyber aware and using it to protect our children, offline and online,” said Genie Sugene Gan, Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy, APJ & META regions at Kaspersky.

Commenting on the collaboration, Dr. Heba Saleh, ITI Director said “as our lives feel the impact of digitization, the importance of cybersecurity grows more and more. Our mission has always been to provide educational tools, programs and content that can help children, parents and educators easily adapt to this hyperconnected world. This is why our collaboration with Kaspersky is important. We want to elevate the level of cybersecurity awareness among children, right from an early age. We want them to be aware of online risks and enable them to cultivate habits that can keep them safe and protected online.”

ITI and Kaspersky have worked together throughout the previous years in the field of cybersecurity training for university undergraduates.

The Information Technology Institute (ITI) was established back in 1993 and became one of the MCIT’s affiliates in 2005.  Its main mission revolves around ICT human capacity development. For over 30 years, ITI has kept updating its training portfolio through continuous monitoring of future global tech trends, as well as the country’s national and mega projects.

ITI programs served thousands of Egyptian youth from different Egyptian governorates, who graduated from different academic backgrounds, thanks to the rich programs that built on their academic experience leveraging their future employment opportunities. These programs include development, content design, game development, Geographic Information System, media and animation, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, among others. ITI has a wide network of relations with industry and academia, empowering its curriculum and helping in reaching out talents in most of Egypt’s universities and governorates.
