Dubai, UAE: ICAEW (the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) celebrates 10 years of partnership with Emirates NBD, the leading banking Group in the Middle East. Helping to advance the Bank’s top finance talent and future leaders, the partnership has seen Emirates NBD’s UAE national employees undertake ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA), regarded as one of the most advanced learning and professional development programmes available.

11 UAE national employees have successfully achieved the ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification, that is valued around the world in business, practice and the public sector. Presently 31 Emirates NBD UAE national employees are being trained for ICAEW qualifications. Of the FTSE 100 companies, 83 have an ICAEW member on their board.

The ICAEW training partnership forms a key part of Emirates NBD’s Nationalisation Programme that started in 2012 and has facilitated to recruit and retain talented UAE national talent who are keen to learn and better their qualifications in line with the growth of the organisation. Both ACA and CFAB prepare staff for their position within the Bank while maximising their potential. Trainees gain accountancy skills, real-world business experience and technical competencies to help advance their professional careers.

Emirates NBD Group Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Sullivan and Group Chief Human Resource Officer, Eman Abdulrazzaq are senior sponsors of the ACA programme. Group Financial Controller, Asim Rasheed plays an active role in regularly engaging with the students and mentoring them.

Sullivan said: “It is Emirates NBD’s drive to develop leaders within Emirati nationals and the ACA is an excellent platform to attain the associated knowledge and skills.
