Jeddah: HRH Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Forces, joined SAMI’s senior leadership at the launch event, which took place at the company’s headquarters in Jeddah. Unveiled the strategy and new identity for “SAMI Aerospace Mechanics” that will drive its success and growth in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) in the Kingdom

SAMI, the national defense and security champion, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company announces its pioneering step following the successful complete acquisition of the renowned Aircraft Accessories & Components Company (AACC) earlier this year. AACC operated as a pioneer in the aerospace sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, HRH Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, expressed his pride in what has already been achieved. He said: “Through the unlimited support of our wise leadership and in alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030 goal to support the localization 50% of military spending by 2030. We all understand the importance of the role national companies play in building local capabilities and competencies in the field of aircraft maintenance while working to the highest international standards. The role of the workers in these factories is just as important as the role of our soldiers in maintaining the security and safety of our country, so I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this important transformation.”

SAMI’s CEO Eng. Walid A. Abukhaledemphasized the significance of the evolution of the company, stating: “The new strategy and identity of “SAMI Aerospace Mechanics” reflects the new horizons of the aviation and space sector in the Kingdom. This is a major step towards developing and empowering national capabilities in the field of aviation. This launch is an important step towards the development and growth of the Saudi aviation ecosystem, especially in light of the expansion witnessed in the commercial aviation markets at both local and regional levels. In addition, this achievement enhances the integration between SAMI group companies and their ability to contribute to building a sustainable defense system."

Originating in Jeddah in 1988, AACC established itself as a key MRO service leader in the Middle East. With diverse business units and specialized facilities, it offered extensive services ranging from supporting fighter jets to catering to the broader defense and civil aviation industries. Under its new banner, “SAMI Aerospace Mechanics” aims to build on this legacy to strengthen the Kingdom's self-sufficiency in the aviation and space systems sector, aligning with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
