UK manufacturer Diamedica will be showcasing how their award-winning portable systems can enable safe anaesthesia and respiratory support in limited resource settings at Arab Health 2023.

Joining the ABHI UK Pavilion, the company will be showcasing its ground-breaking Glostavent® DPA03 portable anaesthesia machine and the award-winning Diamedica Portable CPAP, a small, hands-free, neonatal CPAP device, designed to function in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

Manufactured in the UK, the portable Glostavent® DPA03 does not require electrical or battery power and is designed to function anywhere, from the field or working to an outreach hospital or rural clinic. Its two vaporisers make it suitable for use with Halothane, Isoflurane or Sevoflurane so users can maximise resources. Lightweight and assembled in two minutes, the innovative system is contained in a tough Peli case, making it safe and easy to transport to help save lives.

The highly versatile system can be optionally supplied with a vital signs monitor, improving the safety and efficacy of anaesthesia provision to the patient. The portable system is designed to provide excellent economy of oxygen use, with just two litres per minute of oxygen providing the average patient with 50% FiO2.

In low-resource settings, access to CPAP can be scarce. To meet this need, Diamedica have created the Diamedica Portable CPAP, a low cost, and portable CPAP device designed to support neonates and infants with respiratory distress syndrome.

Manufactured with simplicity in mind, the system provides filtered room air through a patient cannula interface. It provides a compact and effective respiratory device for use in a range of settings including transport internally in the hospital or externally to another facility. The device can also be used when the number of patients in need of CPAP therapy exceeds the number of standalone CPAP machines available or when electricity or compressed gas supply is not readily available.

Diamedica’s award-winning technology is already in use in more than 80 countries around the world.

Charlotte Green, Head of Sales and Marketing at Diamedica UK Ltd, said: “Arab Health sees thousands of industry players congregate in Dubai for four days of business and knowledge sharing, the perfect location to showcase our latest innovations. We look forward meeting key stakeholders and potential distributors to discuss our sustainable and innovative medical device solutions and demonstrate how our anaesthesia and respiratory solutions are specifically designed to perform to full capability in some of the most challenging environments around the world.”

Diamedica’s product range extends from full hospital anaesthetic machines, oxygen concentrator driven CPAP, oxygen reservoir filling system, to portable anaesthesia and ventilation for field hospitals, outreach missions, conflict and humanitarian situations. All designed to completely bespoke specifications to suit low-resource settings.

Recognised as a leading expert in the field, the company works hand-in-hand with in-country partners to provide training, education and distribution to equip their customers with the knowledge and resources they need.

The Arab Health Exhibition & Congress is taking place from 30 January – 2 February 2023 at the Dubai Convention and Exhibition Centre. Throughout the exhibition,

Diamedica will be located on the ABHI UK Pavilion – Stand H2.D14.
