  • Align Technology’s participation highlights the company`s commitment to furthering education and driving awareness of clear aligner therapy for orthodontists in the Middle East region.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Align Technology, Inc. (“Align”) (Nasdaq: ALGN), a leading global medical device company that designs, manufactures, and sells the Invisalign® system of clear aligners, iTero™ intraoral scanners, and exocad™ CAD/CAM software for digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry, reinforced its commitment to the Middle East region with its sponsorship of the 3rd International Saudi Orthodontic Clear Aligner Conference.

Organised by the Saudi Orthodontic Society, the Clear Aligner Conference was held from December 15 to 18, led by expert dental care practitioners from across the region. The event was attended by approximately 300 in-person participants.

As part of their long-standing collaboration with the Saudi Orthodontic Society, Align Technology endorsed three keynotes and provided twelve hours of education on clear aligner therapy and its diverse application across all malocclusions and patience age groups, adding value to the participants` experience at the event.

Angelo Maura, General Manager Middle East & Africa at Align Technology, said: “The Saudi Clear Aligner Conference brings together global experts to share their knowledge within the wider dental practitioner community. Thanks to event such as this one, dental professionals can achieve higher levels of clinical efficiency in digital orthodontics. With significant advances in technology, dental practitioners stand to gain incredible value to their practice by leveraging the digital-driven solutions, while delivering enhanced outcomes for their patients.”

The speakers at the event include Prof. Ibrahim Al Shahrani, Dr. Won Moon, Dr. Dania Tamimi, Dr. Ramón Mompell, Matthias Peper, Dr. Vicki Vlaskalic, Dr. Bart Iwasiuk, Dr. Pedro Costa Monteiro, Dr. Amr El-Beialy, Dr. Theodore Eliades, Prof. Luca Lombardo, Dr. Martin Pedernera, Prof. Dr. Benedict Wilmes and Dr. Mohammed Albawardi.

Among the key technologies that Align Technology highlighted at the event include its pathbreaking iTero Element™ 5D Plus Imaging System, which was launched this year in the Kingdom. The intraoral scanner provides superior visualization capabilities and cutting-edge digital scanning performance. It delivers a seamless scanning experience, enhancing digital adoption, and productivity that enables practitioners to record 3D, intraoral colour and near infrared imaging (NIRI) images with just one full arch scan, in as little as 60 seconds*.

Align Technology also highlighted the value addition from its ClinCheck® Live Update for 3D Controls, which reduces treatment modifications and approvals from days to minutes. In a survey of orthodontists and dentists, 98 per cent of the respondents agreed that using ClinCheck® software with 3D controls gave them increased control of the treatment plan by minimizing misinterpretation of written comments, while 90 per cent said it allowed for quicker turnaround on delivery of aligners. It complements the ClinCheck® treatment planning software, a user-friendly tool that combines roots, bone, and crowns into a single three-dimensional model that enables doctors to visualize a patient’s roots as part of the digital treatment planning process.

A pioneer in digital orthodontics, including the Invisalign® clear aligner system and iTero intraoral scanners, Align Technology brings the latest advances in digital dentistry with the use of 3D printing, creating the opportunity for trained professionals across the world to straighten millions of smiles in a gentle, non-invasive manner. The company invests approximately USD $200million into R&D and innovation annually and operates across more than 120 markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
