• The Challenge will take place March 18th 2023 at Al Hudayriyat Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE

UAE, Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) College of Engineering (CoE) along with Global EEE, a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for student competitions worldwide focused on education, energy and environment, 3elm Education and Training Consultancy and the main partner of the event, the U.S. Mission to the UAE, are co-organizing the first Future Mobility Challenge hosted by ADU on March 18 at Al Hudayriyat Island.

In line with ADU’s continuous efforts to foster innovative thinking and competitive learning opportunities for students, ADU will welcome international delegations from the USA, Italy, Qatar and Egypt as well as 15 high schools and six universities from across the national academic ecosystem.

Supported by several key partners including, MathWorks®, ProjoTech, Al Nabooda Automobiles and EVIS (Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit), the Future Mobility Challenge provides a unique opportunity for students and researchers to showcase their skills and contribute to the development of the UAE's mobility sector.

The Challenge’s main objective is to provide participants with a platform to fuel critical thinking and design ideas and models that tackle solutions related to mobility. It will also offer a hands-on experience for students to implement the knowledge gained from classrooms and provide devise real-world solutions as well as create opportunities for them to work on projects and enhance their out-of-class skills. The Challenge also encourages students to pursue careers in STEM fields with a focus on promoting the three Es (education, energy, environment) and improving their understanding of renewable energy technologies, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork and project management. All while educating the new generation about electric vehicles hence promoting clean transportation options.

Furthermore, the Challenge will roll out two competitions including the Electric Vehicle Grand Prix for high school students, where 15 school teams will represent 15 cars and race under strict safety and technical regulations. In addition to the Global Electric Vehicle Challenge for university students which will showcase six cars. The Competition will allow students to embrace their soft skills through teamwork, time management, leadership, innovation, self-confidence, marketing and fundraising.

The teams will present their projects and compete in several categories. These include: the fastest qualifying time, technical innovation, women in science and engineering (WISE) award and best team and event promotion (website, social media, etc) as well as best use of 3D printing, safety, workmanship, car graphics, sportsmanship, best photo and best video.
