Kuwait – Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) was recently recognized for its exceptional contributions to the success of the financial awareness campaign "Let's Be Aware" at an awards ceremony hosted by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK). ABK was among the top three performers and was hailed for reaching out to the audience via its multiple platforms, and creating a positive impact in the community. The event was attended by His Excellency the CBK Governor, Mr. Basel Al-Haroon, and Deputy Governor, Ms. Sahar Al-Rumaih.

Speaking at the event, Mr. George Richani, Group CEO of ABK, said he was proud of ABK’s accomplishment of being among the top three contributors to the "Let's Be Aware" campaign in 2022. He noted, “The campaign's goals are in line with the Bank's values and strategy, which are centered around educating customers and providing them with exceptional banking products and services. ABK will steadfastly remain committed to these objectives.”

Furthermore, Mr. Richani commended CBK and KBA for their noteworthy efforts in educating customers about the latest financial and economic developments, thereby enhancing their trust in the Kuwaiti banks.

Mr. Richani emphasized, “ABK’s outstanding contribution to the awareness campaign is a reflection of the Bank's unwavering commitment to elevating financial literacy among all segments of the society. The Bank has utilized available resources to ensure the success of the awareness campaign for the second consecutive year. ABK is fully committed to fostering customer trust and delivering unparalleled banking solutions of the highest standard.”

Mr. Richani added that the Bank has been working closely with CBK and the KBA to create impactful educational content for their target audience. “The contents aim to help customers better understand how to use banking services and products effectively and to protect their transactions. Without strong partnerships like these, it wouldn’t have possible to run the awareness campaign so successfully, especially with the constantly changing banking and economic landscape, both in the region and the world at large,” he stated.

In conclusion, Richani said, “ABK will continue to support the awareness campaign to strengthen the customers’ understanding of their banking rights and obligations. Additionally, ABK is continuously improving its digital platform to meet the rising demand for it and maintain the high standards that the bank has established in the sector.”

The “Let’s Be Aware’ campaign was launched by CBK in 2021 with the aim of empowering customers to conduct their transactions safely, promoting financial inclusion, and increasing awareness of the benefits of electronic transactions and cybersecurity. The initiative also aims to caution customers against the perils of cybercrimes and electronic fraud, including the theft of sensitive data and unauthorized access to bank accounts.
