Muscat, Oman: Talabat and Carrefour have joined forces to allow customers to do their grocery shopping on the food delivery app. With Talabat being one of the most frequently-used apps in the region, this innovation drives further convenience for users in Oman, making everyday life easier. Talabat’s partnership with Carrefour is also the first time a food delivery platform in the region has offered a complete grocery delivery option.

The new Talabat Grocery service is available as part of Talabat’s existing app, under a new filter card named ‘Grocery’. Since the launch of Carrefour on Talabat, the platform has seen a growth in demand from customers in Oman for items including water, packaged snacks, dairy products, eggs, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.

Talabat Grocery users will benefit from the platform’s advanced network of delivery logistics, receiving their order of convenience groceries via Talabat Go riders to their doorstep.

Commenting on the launch of Talabat Grocery, Tatiana Rahal, Talabat’s Managing Director in Oman, said: “Our partnership with Carrefour was a natural choice; two industry leaders coming together to make life more convenient for customers. Our existing technological and logistics capabilities have enabled us to bring this idea to life, and we’re excited to offer our customers more brands, better prices, and a larger assortment of products to choose from. Our priority is always to fulfil our users’ daily needs and delivering groceries is an exciting addition to our existing services.”

“At Carrefour, we strive to deliver seamless shopping experiences, no matter how our customers choose to shop with us,” said Najib Haddad, Country Manager of Carrefour in Oman at Majid Al Futtaim Retail. “Talabat is a leader in food delivery, a space that we are working with them in other markets and therefore are pleased to be strengthening our relationship by extending the grocery service to include Oman. With more purchases being made online than ever before, together we are adapting to this trend by giving customers easy access to a wide variety of high-quality products. We look forward to serving customers nationwide and taking our brand promise of creating great moments for everyone, every day to their doorstep,” he concluded.

User experience lies at the heart of Talabat Grocery, and customers purchasing their shopping through the app will receive the same variety, quality and product freshness they have come to expect from Carrefour’s brick-and-mortar stores.

With thousands of Carrefour products listed on Talabat, customers in Oman have a wide range of categories available to them. Categories include food items such as fruit and vegetables, bakery items, fresh meat, dairy items, and frozen and canned goods, alongside baby items, household goods and personal care items.
