In furtherance of His Majesty's vision

Amman, Jordan – Careem, the region’s leading ride-hailing app, announced the addition of electric vehicles to its fleet in cooperation with “Tawseeleh,” one of the projects of Abu Al Haj Group.

The initiative is a translation of His Majesty’s vision regarding the empowerment of the public transportation sector, and falls under Careem’s strategy, which aims to reimagine the concept of public transportation and logistic services in the region by working on enhancing and making possible “green” transportation. This sustainable type of transportation includes the use of electric and hybrid vehicles, which will lower both Careem and the sector’s carbon footprint on the environment, in addition to providing a variety of more advanced transportation options for citizens.

Commenting on the occasion, Kareem Zinaty, Operations Manager at Careem Jordan said, “Our partnership with the ‘Tawseeleh’ project helps us manifest our commitment to developing the transportation sector and elevating the level of service that we provide to our users, as we continue striving to suit their unique needs. It also reflects our concerns regarding the environment and shows our eagerness to participate in safeguarding it by adopting ecofriendly managerial behaviors and methods.”

CEO of Abu Al Haj Group Eid Abu Al Haj said, “With this new partnership with Careem that includes adding more green technology to the transportation industry, we will be able to provide sustainable services that contribute to minimizing carbon emissions, as well as decreasing the national energy bill.”

Zinaty added that the partnership between the two entities is crucial, as it constitutes an integral part of Careem’s ongoing expansion and investment plans that include not only organizational goals, but also goals for increased development, of which the most important is sustainability. In addition, Careem focuses on creating partnerships that aim to enhance and motivate different fields in the local business sector.
