Dubai: Bridgestone Middle East & Africa has today announced that Stefano Sanchini has been appointed in the role of the Regional Managing Director. Stefano will lead the organisation’s continued growth across Middle East and Africa.

Sanchini joined Bridgestone as Sales Director in 2017, and was responsible for managing the sales activities for Bridgestone’s Middle East & Africa’s branches, along with Commercial Channel Development, Technical Services (Commercial and Consumer) and Retail divisions. In his new position as Regional Managing Director, Sanchini will report to Mete Ekin, VP, Emerging Markets, and will be responsible for driving BSMEA’s integration with EMEA and leading the company’s strategy in the region.

Sanchini has more than 18 years of experience in the automotive industry, 14 of which are in the tyre industry. During his career, he has worked across various functions, which has enabled him to grasp the inner workings of the sector. He began his career in production, before moving on to supply chain, IT, marketing and sales.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me to build on expanding our footprint across the region and beyond,” said Sanchini. I have realized the immense potential of our brands and the growth opportunities for our business in the Middle East & Africa region. I aim to share my experience in the region, as well as the tyre industry, to propel us to even greater heights. I look forward to working with Mete Ekin, VP, Emerging Markets, and the team to ensure we take our business from strength to strength through engaging our people and partners.

“I am delighted and thrilled to take on this new challenge. This is an exciting time for Bridgestone: we have a clear vision for our region, great people capability, valuable partnerships, an innovative product line-up, and we have ambitious growth plans in the region. I look forward to working with the team to ensure that we accomplish these goals and more,” added Sanchini.

Sanchini completed his master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at Politecnico Di Milano in 1998, and is fluent in three languages: Italian, English, and Spanish.
