Luxembourg - Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) has appointed Patrick Casters to serve as the CEO of BIL Dubai and as its Global Market Head for the Middle East.

Casters, who will be based in Dubai, will focus on implementing the BIL group’s Middle East Strategic Roadmap. As an expert in private banking, he will oversee the bank’s investment into further developing its Dubai presence, including the creation of an International Clients desk and the development of a dedicated proposition for non-resident Indian clients.

Casters joined BIL’s private banking operation in 2001 after spending ten years at CREGEM International Bank. Prior to moving to this Dubai role, he headed BIL’s International Wealth Management activities. In this capacity, he focused on serving ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices.

“Patrick Casters is a highly experienced private banker whose long experience, especially with UHNW clients, will greatly help us developing our presence in the Middle East,” said Hugues Delcourt, BIL’s Chief Executive Officer. “The Middle East is indeed a focus region for the group. With Patrick’s leadership, I am convinced that we will grow significantly by being ever more relevant to our clients, advising them on their investments both within the GCC countries and in Europe.”

BIL inaugurated its Dubai branch in March 2015. It serves to reinforce the close economic ties linking Luxembourg and the UAE. This takes place against the background of the Grand Duchy’s support for the development of the Luxembourg financial centre into what is becoming the main Islamic finance hub in Europe. Luxembourg is also the largest domicile for Islamic funds in Europe, and the third largest worldwide.
