MANAMA: Bahrain will host “Business Development Forum & Expo (BDFEX-2019) for the Downstream Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals Industry” from April 24 to April 25, 2019 at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel Manama, Bahrain.

BDFEX is a first-of-its-kind event aims to attract international and regional corporations, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), investors and entrepreneurs to explore new business opportunities and investments to maximize the local content of manufacturing and services in oil and gas and petrochemicals industries.

The Forum (BDFEX) is organized by PROACT International Consultancy, Kingdom of Bahrain and United Gulf Industrial Consortia for Investment Management and Consultation, Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,

Dr. Khaled Jasim Bomtaia, CEO of PROACT International Consultancy, one of BDFEX’s organizers, pointed out that BDFEX 2019 is in line with the major developments of oil and gas industry in Bahrain, such as the new biggest oil and gas field discovered in Bahrain, the biggest ongoing modernization programme of the Bapco refinery and other projects which contributes to the development of the oil and gas industry infrastructure, represents an added value to the national economy, and confirms the Bahraini government's progress in supporting the establishment of mega projects, which serve the industrial sector.

“The potential benefit of BDFEX is also aligned on national plans to fostering institutional collaborations, maximizing the utilization of the resources to attracting investments into the sector and reflects the linked oil and gas sector of both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. BDFEX will present approaches that link standards with the SDG 9 to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.” Dr. Bomtaia added.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Al Khaldi, CEO of the Gulf Investment and Consulting Department of United Gulf Industrial Consorita Al-jubail Industrial City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noted that BDFEX aims to attract international and regional corporations in order to enhance the national interest of this industry, which is the mainstay of economy in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. It would result in increasing local content of manufacturing and services in the hydrocarbon downstream industry and attracting investments. 

 “BDFEX comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is witnessing an accelerated and unprecedented pace of progress and development, especially with the launch of the National Industry Development and Logistics Program as one of the most important programs of the "Vision 2030", aimed at transforming the Kingdom into a leading industrial power and a global logistics platform.” Dr. Khaldi added.

Corporations participating in the forum will benefit finding new partners, finding new technologies, expanding their network suppliers and buyers. Investors will benefit understanding investment outlook in the region and meeting industrial entrepreneurs and growth SMEs. SMEs will benefit finding new potential contracts from corporations and finding growth capital, while industrial entrepreneurs will benefit direct meetings with investors and gauging business interest in their ventures by corporations.
