Manama: Bahrain FinTech Bay today announced the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) as the Strategic Partner for its global blockchain conference, BlockOn 2018 - Redefining Finance, taking place on November 22nd, 2018 at the Wyndham Grand, Bahrain Bay.

Held under the patronage of H.E. Khalid Al-Rumaihi, Chief Executive, EDB and Chairman of the Executive Board of Bahrain FinTech Bay, BlockOn expects to attract more than 300 global Blockchain innovators and professionals including a diverse group of regulators, entrepreneurs, investors and financial industry executives who will convene to explore the rising opportunities and challenges presented by the industry. EDB has played a strong role in establishing Bahrain as a regional FinTech hub and in the attraction of leading FinTech companies of all sizes to the Kingdom.  

BlockOn will address the impact of Blockchain on finance and other industries and its many  applications ranging from trading and payments to security and legal ownership. The conference will examine related regulation, collaboration and other issues impacting Blockchain innovation. Seminars, panels, keynotes and fireside chats will be accompanied by roundtables and demos to and from the Blockchain community. The conference will also see Bahrain FinTech Bay present the results of it BlockOn Survey currently in progress. The conference agenda will feature an important range of topics including:  Block Chain 101: Unlocking Blockchain, National E-KYC Benefit, Regulatory Sandbox, National Block Chain Strategy: How Monaco is aiming to become a trusted ICO location, Regulation/Transiting Adoption of Blockchain, and The Future of Blockchain Tech. Discussions will be followed by dedicated breakout sessions divided into Business and Technical Tracks to train C-level innovation leaders on Blockchain and at least 30 developers by conference end in the writing of Blockchain smart contracts for financial services.
