Dubai, February 26th, 2014. The American University in Dubai (AUD) became the first university in Dubai to start applying the second-generation 'Smart Chip' attestation of its certificates. The move aims to link the database of the university with the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's, and maintain the data of students, their certificates, transcripts and previous credentials in the database of the Ministry. AUD had already been attesting student diplomas through the first-generation smart chip technology since 2010. "AUD's goal in adapting this advanced tool folds under the process of development and modernization undertaken by The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE, and the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, that aims to reach international standards for education services in the country" expressed Mrs. Matilda Jabbour, AUD Registrar.

The application provides speed and accuracy in the attestation of certificates, reduces the error margin, and facilitates acquiring information quickly and precisely. In addition, it reduces the cost of service, and guarantees the authenticity of certificates.

In addition, the smart chip is embedded on the certificate by the university, and a lot of educational institutions expressed their satisfaction with the use of this electronic solution, which contributed to saving time and effort, and speeding up the attestation process, as well as the verification of the authenticity of the certificates. "We always seek to adapt the latest technology techniques and the highest standards into our services in order to provide our students with the best educational services" adds Mrs. Jabbour.
