Expands Its Cloud Network Coverage to China
Kuwait - Tawasul Telecom, the leading provider of MPLS Networking Services in the GCC and the Middle East, and China Unicom (United Network Communications Group Co), a world-leading communications and information service provider, signed a cooperative partnership agreement. The agreement was signed at the Capacity Middle East event, which was sponsored by Tawasul and held at Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai over two days from March 10th to March 12th.
"We were pleased to announce our new strategic partnership at Capacity Middle East, one of the world's largest telecom events ", said Salem Almulaifi, Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer at Tawasul Telecom. "China Unicom's vast network, proud history, and technical expertise were all key factors that lead Tawasul Telecom to pursue this agreement."
Moving forward, Almulaifi confirmed that the new partnership is a great achievement for Tawasul to start the year. It is an accomplishment to have the Company continue transcending its geographical borders by further expanding into Asian markets.
Speaking for China Unicom, Phyllis Yeung, VP of Emerging Markets, International Carrier Business Department, China Unicom (Hong Kong) Said: "We are exploring business opportunities in new and emerging markets, particularly in the Middle East. Tawasul plays an important role in the MENA region, and we are very excited to be working with them."
The move will see China Unicom provided with access to Tawasul's MPLS network, which connects the Middle East, including all six GCC nations, Egypt, as well as London, Frankfort, Singapore and Hong Kong. In return, Tawasul will be provided with access to China Unicom's network, which spans main-land China, Hong Kong, and other markets throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Both Companies confirmed that they are enthusiastic about this cooperative agreement, as both China Unicom and Tawasul Telecom share a vision that is in line with their commitment to provide superior quality and trusted services by working closely with telecommunication partners to guarantee that customer demands and expectations are met and exceeded.
It is also worth observing that Tawasul Telecom is continuously applying its strategy to enhance and develop the infrastructure of its cloud network that spans 12 active markets in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa including: Kuwait, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, the UAE, Egypt, the UK, Germany, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
