Ascott wins Middle east's leading serviced apartment brand at world travel awards for the second consecutive year

Dubai, UAE – CapitaLand’s wholly owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), has clinched three top accolades at the World Travel Awards - Middle East this year, including the highest honor of the Middle East’s Leading Serviced Apartment Brand for the second consecutive year.

Dubbed the Oscars of the travel industry, the awards recognises excellence across all sectors of the hospitality and tourism industry, with winners being voted by travellers and travel professionals worldwide.

Ascott, one of the world’s largest international serviced residence owner-operators, continued to be chosen the best for the second year running in the following categories:

The Middle East awards followed closely Ascott’s recent win as the Best Serviced Residence Group at Travel Weekly Asia’s 2017 Readers’ Choice Awards and Business Traveller UK’s Best Serviced Apartment Company.

Earlier this month, Ascott’s Citadines Apart’hotel brand was recognised with the acclaimed title of Europe’s Leading Serviced Apartment Brand at the World Travel Awards 2017 for the second year running, as well as five other awards for its Europe properties. In June this year, Ascott received 12 prestigious accolades at the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia, including Asia’s Leading Serviced Apartment Brand.

This year, Ascott secured new contracts to manage Citadines Abha and Citadines Al Noor Al Khobar, boosting the company’s portfolio in the Middle East to 21 properties with over 2,900 units across 11 cities in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Ascott also opened three properties namely Ascott Rafal Olaya Riyadh, Spectrums Residence Jeddah, and its first property in Turkey Somerset Maslak Istanbul.

Seven more properties are slated to open in in the next two years - Ascott Culture Village Dubai, Ascott Makkah, Ascott Corniche Al Khobar, Ascott Villas Riyadh, Citadines Al Noor Al Khobar, Citadines Al Ghubrah Muscat, Somerset Corniche Jeddah and Sohar Garden Residences. Citadines Culture Village Dubai and Somerset Downtown Al Khobar, while Citadines Abha will open in 2020.
