Complimentary heart check-ups offered to women in collaboration with City Centre Clinic

Sharjah - Sharjah Holding PJSC, a partnership between Majid Al Futtaim - Properties and Sharjah Asset Management Holding, supported Majid Al Futtaim’s ‘Feel the Beat’ initiative by offering complimentary heart check-ups to women in Al Zahia, Sharjah’s premier mixed-use community. The initiative aims to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease in women and it is organised in collaboration with City Centre Clinics.

An open day event was held at Al Jouri Trees Park, inviting  all women and their children in the community. Women were offered free heart health tests and check-ups, and were able to check their blood pressure, blood sugar and Body Mass Index (BMI) to determine if they are at risk of heart diseases and if they would require a follow-up consultation for further analysis. Participants were also offered discounted packages for further examinations at City Centre Clinics.as part of ‘Feel the Beat’ campaign. Face painting and other interactive games were hosted in the park to engage with children while their moms are getting checked.

Commenting on the initiative, Shadi Al Azzeh, Development Director, Al Zahia, at
Majid Al Futtaim - Communities, said, “Heart disease is one of the most common and life-threatening diseases among women. As a community partner, it is our role to raise awareness among our residents in Al Zahia to take the first step on their journey of living a longer and healthier lifestyle, by creating access to vital medical services and inspiring them to do more for their heart and health.”

‘Feel the Beat’ campaign, a regional health awareness initiative launched by Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, is held in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Health and City Centre Clinics. During the month-long campaign, an exclusive pledging, ‘Sign with your heart’, is leveraged to encourage people to having their hearts checked as often as they need to, signing with a signature that is unique to them – their own heartbeat.
