Dubai, UAE: Al Shirawi FM, the UAE’s leading single-source provider of Integrated Facilities Management, completed its ISO 41001:2018 certification for Facilities Management System (FMS) and became, presumably, the country’s first FM business to achieve this. The certificate was awarded during a formal ceremony held on February 26th 2019.
British Standards Institution (BSI), one of the most reliable and largest certification bodies in the world, carried out Al Shirawi FM’s audit over a period of four months having begun in October 2018. During this phase, Al Shirawi FM demonstrated its ability to deliver upon the standards with skilled people and an efficient operational model.
Pramodh Idicheria, COO, Al Shirawi FM, said: “Several of Al Shirawi Group companies have earned the distinction of being the first within their respective industries to adopt the latest quality standards, including Al Shirawi Infrastructure Construction and Leminar Air Conditioning Company. We regard this exercise as a significant step in achieving excellence, which is one of the core values of our Group.”
Charalampos Sarafopoulos, General Manager, Al Shirawi FM, said: “FM is one of the fastest-growing professional and operational disciplines worldwide. As a responsible player, we felt adherence to the latest standard is critical to elevating the practice of FM and making our customer feel that difference we have vowed to provide.”
“The ISO 41001:2018 released in April 2018, and we embarked on this endeavour soon after. We have always followed a stringent framework while planning and delivering FM services and we were confident of attaining the new standards. The new guidelines we inherited have strengthened us further in delivering exemplary service to our clients,” added Krishna Kumar, General Manager, QHSE & Business Excellence, who led the charge for the certification.
In recent months, Al Shirawi FM has formalised several new contracts including the TFM contract for MEP, Housekeeping & Specialised services for 63 buildings at the sprawling Discovery Gardens; Global Lake View Tower at the Jumeirah Lake Tower; and the provision of MEP and civil maintenance for 40 Adidas outlets all across UAE.
