Dubai, UAE : Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination, Dubai’s legacy institution for people of determination, has officially inaugurated Beit Al Noor, a future-focused endowment project aimed at providing the Association with a sustainable sourcing of funding to support its education efforts.

The low-rise building, constructed on land donated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the Al Warqa suburb of Dubai, was inaugurated at an official ceremony on Sunday, 30 May, attended by His Excellency Ahmad Matrooshi, Executive Board Member at Emaar Properties, His Excellency Khalid Rashed Althani, Deputy Secretary General at Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Mr. Nawaf Al Rayes, Director of the Community Support Department at Dubai Islamic Bank, Mr. Khalid Al Halyan, Chairman at Al Noor, and the rest of Al Noor’s Board Members.

A low-rise residential complex, the funds for the project are the result of a strategic partnership between Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination, Emaar, Dubai Islamic Bank and Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation. Revenue from Beit Al Noor will fund rehabilitation, recreational, and vocational training for students of Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination in Dubai.

“Thanks to the support and collaboration of Al Noor’s trusted partners Emaar, Dubai Islamic Bank and Awqaf, our vision for the Beit Al Noor endowment project has today become a reality,” said Khalid Al Halyan, Chairman, Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination.

“Beit Al Noor will provide a boost to our operations by creating a source of sustainable annual income that will help provide professional training and care for our nearly 200 existing student body, and the wider community of people of determination, for years to come.”

Completion of the progressive endowment project was made possible thanks to donations from Emaar, Dubai Islamic Bank and a timely loan from Awqaf, which will also provide additional support by managing the property.

Located in the established Al Warqa suburb with direct access to key hubs in Dubai, Beit Al Noor comprises a total of 36 apartments, which include both one and two-bedroom apartments and has been meticulously designed to offer residents a modern living space.

Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, provides specialised, high-quality training and rehabilitation for people of determination with physical and cognitive challenges such as Autism, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.

About Al Noor Rehabilitation and Welfare Association for People of Determination: 

Al Noor Rehabilitation and Welfare Association for People of Determination is a public welfare association, which falls under the Ministry of Community Development Authority. Established in 1981, Al Noor has been providing high quality of professional training to the Determined Ones in Dubai for nearly four decades. Al Noor Centre follows a holistic programme addressing all domains of development through a Trans-disciplinary assessment and intervention approach, all delivered to ISO-certified standard. In addition to teaching, the level of development is enhanced with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychological services, Sports and Music. Al Noor also prides itself on an exceptionally effective work placement unit that trains its students with a capability for open employment, integrating them into mainstream society post education.

A particular star of the Al Noor’s fundraising achievements is Smiles ‘n’ Stuff, Al Noor’s very own branded retail outlet, where all the products are handcrafted by children and young people with disabilities enrolled at Al Noor, which helps raise awareness and funds. The goal of Al Noor’s vocational training unit is to make children skilled and productive members of the community and training is offered in wood design technology, printing technology, fashion technology and bakery.
