Middle East: Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company (FAMCO), the authorised dealer for Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) in the UAE and a key partner in Volvo CE’s regional and international network, today unveiled the A45G, the latest version of the 45-ton (41-tonne) articulated hauler, at an official ceremony in Sharjah, UAE.

During the event, FAMCO handed over the keys to the first new model to Al Marwan General Contracting Company (MGCC) - one of the leading contracting companies in the UAE - in the presence of senior executives from Volvo CE, FAMCO and MGCC.

Commenting on the occasion, Vladimir Knezevic, Managing Director at FAMCO UAE, said: “The handover of the new Volvo CE A45G Articulated Hauler to our first customer in the UAE marks the official launch of the G Series in the country. The G Series haulers deliver a whole new level of efficiency, reliability and value on the job. As always, FAMCO is able to bring this industry-leading product from Volvo CE to market with confidence in both the world-class engineering and design, and FAMCO’s unparalleled service. FAMCO will continue to invest in such heavy-duty vehicles to ensure the best possible results and the highest standards of overall operational efficiency for all the construction sites.”

Marwan Al Zaiem, Managing Director of MGCC, said: “The addition of the impressive Volvo CE A45G Articulated Hauler to our fleet will allow us to move material around site with greater efficiency than ever before. The units will also deliver enhanced productivity thanks to its high fuel efficiency, reliability and uptime, which will help us to continue to lead the way in the contracting sphere.”

Speaking on the new model, Samer Juneidi, Divisional Manager at FAMCO UAE, commented: “Representing the legendary Volvo articulated haulers, this pioneering product is a source of great pride for us. Like its predecessors, the A45G sets new industry benchmarks in terms of productivity, reliability and versatility when it comes to navigating the jobsite and continuing to perform at elevated gradients.”

He added: “We are delighted to hand over this ground-breaking machine to our long-standing partner, Al Marwan General Contracting Company, and we wish them every success.”

Volvo CE launched the first articulated hauler 50 years ago and has been developing and refining the concept ever since. Today’s powerful workhorses have come a long way from the original 10-tonne model. Backed by a decades-long track record of engineering excellence, the A45G can move even more tonnes per hour with a two-tonne increase in its payload, while its Volvo engine and robust, durable and reliable design ensure the best performance in all conditions.

The new model features higher payload capabilities, dynamic and predictive gear selection, excellent fuel consumption, telematics machine monitoring systems such as CareTrack™ and MATRIS™ - all of which contribute to optimised production, lower operational costs and improved comfort.

Designed to ensure an easy service access, the front grill of the new model swings forward and down to reveal a full-service platform with anti-slip steps, while the electric hood swings up and back by a full 90 degrees to allow full and safe access to the engine compartment.

Despite being made for heavy hauling in severe off-road operations, the Volvo engine does a great job in delivering excellent fuel efficiency without compromising on power or performance, increasing the profitability of the business and enhancing the total cost of ownership.
