Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, part of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has launched Al Ain Book Fair's sales platform, in collaboration with UAE logistics company Tawzea.

The platform gives publishers the opportunity to promote and sell books exhibited in the fair's pavilions, while enabling readers to explore and buy these books. It is due to be launched on 20 September, one day before the inauguration of Al Ain Book Fair, which runs from 21 to 30 September at Zayed Central Library.

Through the platform, publishers can exhibit their books in the fair's cyberspace, allowing the public to shop virtually, add purchases to shopping carts, and make e-payments. It also facilitates delivering books directly to buyers throughout the UAE through Tawzea, which will implement all the necessary precautionary measures such as packaging and sterilisation.

This platform is part of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre’s efforts to interact with readers and to deepen engagement with the public, especially those who are unable to attend the fair in person.

Al Ain Book Fair aims to celebrate the UAE’s cultural scene by welcoming Emirati academics and writers to discuss the impact of the social environment on culture. It also presents an opportunity for the public to engage directly with the most influential writers in the country.

The exhibition management at the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre has committed to the highest standards to ensure the safety of all visitors, exhibitors and staff at the event. Visitors aged over 16 must have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, while all presenters, participants, and visitors above 12 years of age must demonstrate a negative PCR test result taken no more than 48 hours previously through the Al Hosn smartphone app.

Visitors’ temperatures will be checked at the entrance and social distancing will be maintained throughout the venue. Visitor numbers inside the exhibition halls and exhibitors pavilions will also be limited to avoid overcrowding.

To attend, an electronic access card must be obtained, either through the website https://www.tawzea.ae/ar/alain-book-fair  or the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair smartphone app.
