BMW sales increased by 6%, and MINI sales by 16%, year-on-year

Growth expected to continue in H2 with the introduction of the BMW 520i and the launch of the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman

AGMC, the official BMW Group’s importer for Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, has achieved remarkable results from January to June, with BMW sales rising by 6% and MINI by 16% in comparison to the same period in 2016. The results follow the launch of two of the groups most popular models; the all new BMW 5 Series, and the MINI Countryman ALL4, as well as a successful Ramadan Offers.

The BMW 5 Series enjoyed an extraordinary growth of 102% in H1 2017 compared to H1 2016 following the December launch of the new seventh generation of the BMW 5 Series Sedan model. Meanwhile, the March launch of the all-new MINI Countryman - the brand’s biggest MINI ever built –  boosted sales of the model by an incredible 43% from April to June 2017.

The success is expected to continue with the launch of the MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Countryman. JCW, the racing sub-brand of MINI, has enjoyed a perpetual popularity in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. The MINI JCW Countryman, which is the most powerful MINI ever built, just arrived in showrooms this July and is expected to help maintain a steady momentum of sales throughout the remainder of the year.

In addition, the sporty, elegant and stylish BMW 5 Series is set for a further boost when the recently-launched seventh generation model introduces its 2-litre engine model the BMW 520i, which is set to arrive in September. The latest BMW 5 Series model offers an unmatched degree of connectivity and an innovative operating system giving drivers in the UAE a redefined experience behind the wheel. The car has set new benchmarks technologically, and has had a huge emotional appeal with drivers in the UAE.
