Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt, Mariam Al-Kaabi, in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, said President El-Sisi received a letter from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, inviting him to the World Climate Summit (COP28), scheduled to take place in Dubai in December. This is while stressing the interest of the UAE in strengthening cooperation between the two countries and benefiting form Egypt's experience in this field, in light of successfully hosting COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh and receiving global recognition, as well as the positive results achieved in international climate action.
President El-Sisi asked for his greetings to be conveyed to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, stressing Egypt's confidence in the UAE's leadership of the upcoming climate summit, in light of the outstanding Emirati capabilities. The President also confirmed mutual interest in maximizing cooperation and transferring Egypt's expertise to ensure a positive outcome for the summit in the interest of supporting international climate action and taking into account the relevant concerns of developing and African countries.
