Cavista Technologies (www.Cavistatech.com) Chairman John Olajide was deeply involved in the recent U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington. It was the first time in eight years the U.S. has convened a gathering of African leaders and nearly 50 heads of state attended to dialogue on ways the U.S. can work more closely to help the continent prosper in the coming decades.

Olajide was among a select few speakers on a panel during the Business Forum that focused on the importance of U.S. investment and trade across Africa. He also spoke as part of a panel that discussed opportunities to develop and implement strategies that empower digital connectivity to help people, businesses and governments in Africa thrive.

“The U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit provided a great opportunity for me to continue to thoughtfully engage on both continents,” Olajide said. “It enabled me to continue to support and partner with leaders in Africa across government, business, and technology. Africa has untapped potential for future growth and prosperity, and I want to do what I can to help Africa achieve that potential.”

Several health ministers from various countries also attended and spoke of the need to ensure access to healthcare across the continent. Africa imports 80 percent of its medicines so ensuring strong supply chains and creating sound healthcare infrastructure will be key as the population continues to grow. Projections call for Africa’s population to double over the next 30 years, and by 2050 it is expected that Africa will have 25% of the world’s population.

Olajide, who is the founder and CEO of Axxess, the leading home healthcare technology company, said Cavista will play an important role in Africa in the coming decades as it provides technology solutions to ensure access and connectivity to improve lives.

“The summit was an important reminder that the good work that Cavista is doing every day to deliver innovative technology solutions will ultimately impact billions of people around the world,” Olajide said.

To date, Cavista empowers clients with world-class, custom software solutions to solve the most complicated challenges in healthcare.
