Lego Innovation Studios to be constructed in all ADNOC Schools

Reaffirms ADNOC's commitment to providing high-quality, innovative, hands-on learning programs for students

Abu Dhabi, UAE –The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Lego Education signed a partnership agreement, today, to champion high-quality, innovative hands-on learning programs designed to advance the study of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in all ADNOC Schools, in Abu Dhabi and the Al Dhafra region.

The agreement was signed at ADIPEC 2017 by Reem Al Buainain, Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at ADNOC and Senthil Kugan, Director ATLAB / Emphor Trading, on behalf of Lego Education.

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Lego Innovation Studios will be constructed in all ADNOC Schools and will benefit students from Elementary to High School levels. The agreement covers the establishment of creative labs, teacher training and development programs and access to Lego Education’s global on-line collaboration communities.

Al Buainain said: “This partnership reaffirms ADNOC’s unwavering commitment to the learning and development of students in our schools, the Abu Dhabi community and the UAE overall. Our children’s education is vital to the future prosperity of the UAE. The program honors our wise leadership’s vision and ambition to create innovative education experiences to allow our youth to fulfill their potential.”

Kugan said: “The program represents ADNOC’s significant investment in the acceleration and growth of STEM education, in ADNOC schools, that will create a positive and lasting impact on UAE society.”                       

ADNOC’s Corporate Social Responsibility program is aligned with the 2017 Year of Giving announced by the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and has four pillars: culture and community, education and innovation, safety and environment, and wellbeing and health. The aim is to create a positive and lasting impact on society, with efforts that incorporate social impact, volunteering and national service.

In 2008, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) formed the ADNOC Schools. The goal of its founders was to provide a challenging and rigorous secondary academic curriculum for Emirati and other highly qualified pupils in grades seven through eleven.
