AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), received in his office the President of the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO), HE Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid, to discuss means of cooperation in training, digital transformation and media fields.

During the meeting, the two parties agreed on signing a cooperation agreement for supporting Arab medical tourism and its marketing through digital media platforms. That is in addition to strengthening cooperation in the tourism services area, as well as, providing the Organization with all-related digital transformation services.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh called for cooperation in launching an Arab tourism guide that promotes and introduces various types of tourism, and highlights its important contributing role to the Gross National Product (GNP). He further called for cooperation in preparing and accrediting capacity-building programs in the Arab region, such as the “Arabic Fluency Program” and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International Diploma in IT Skills (TAG- DIT) to eradicate digital illiteracy.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh referred to the 6th Medical Tourism World Summit, Conference and Expo 2021, which will be chaired by him on October 16-17, 2021 in Amman, inviting Dr. Al Fahid to deliver a speech on the Arab tourism at the Summit.

For his part, Al Fahid commended the role played by TAG.Global in supporting the Arab institutions and organizations and providing them the necessary expertise to develop and compete globally. 

The meeting was attended by a delegation representing Tharwa Investment Co., which is the investment arm of the Organization that provides consulting services in different countries for development projects in various regions and countries. 

It is worth mentioning that the Arab Tourism Organization is one of the Arab Joint Action organizations that works within the framework of the Council of Arab Tourism Ministers of the League of Arab States, headquartered in Jeddah. The Organization translates the Arab Ministerial Council decisions into policies and plans that promote the tourism industry in the Arab countries.
