Global Personal Protective Equipment Market to be Worth AED AED203 Billion by 2020

Dubai, UAE: 31 October 2016

3M, a company driven by science and innovation, will showcase a variety of fall protection products and solutions that include respiratory masks, end-of-service-life cartridges, self-rescue systems and more at ADIPEC 2016. A mobile fall protection van will be located at the 3M stand and will showcase a range of personal protective equipment (PPE).

According to Transparency Market Research’s Personal Protective Equipment Market Report, the global PPE market is expected to reach US$55.2 billion (almost AED 203 billion) by 2020.

“There is significant interest being shown by decision makers and key stakeholders in the Middle East region when it comes to fall protection and personal protective equipment,” said Jason Wells, General Manager, Safety and Graphics Business Group, 3M. “ADIPEC is the most renowned exhibition for the Oil and Gas industry in the region and is the ideal place to showcase our range of solutions to ensure that the highest levels of health and safety are met within any company. Our stand and mobile unit will demonstrate respiratory and hearing protection solutions. Visitors will also get a chance to experience industry-leading products and solutions that include harnesses, lanyards, self-retracting lifelines and more.”

The 6500 QL Resuable Respirator and the innovative End-of-Service-Life-Indicator (ESLI) cartridges featured in the Organic Gas & Vapor Life Service are two products that were engineered specifically to improve workplace health and safety by protecting workers in multiple areas across the oil and gas sector as well as the industrial and manufacturing industries where they are exposed to unfavorable and contaminated environments.

“Being able to determine when to accurately change filters of respiratory masks is vital to ensure the health and safety of workers in harsh environments such as those in the oil and gas industry,” said Wells. “We are committed to engage in constant innovation to improve workplace productivity whilst prolonging the utility and life of assets.”

Other protection products and solutions that will be on display at ADIPEC 2016 include a Detachable Self-Recuse System, the Nano-Lok Edge Twin-Leg Quick Connect Self Retracting Lifeline, Small Parts Pouch and much more.

Wells further stated that companies within the UAE, GCC region and even across the world have been requesting for innovative solutions to improve workplace productivity with a specific emphasis on personal protective equipment.

“Government regulation combined with the drive of companies to foster innovative and sustainable solutions to protect employees is what will facilitate this growth,” stated Wells. “In fact, with respect to the UAE, we can see the demand for PPE increase even more due to Dubai unveiling a new industrial strategy designed to elevate the emirate into a global platform for knowledge-based, sustainable and innovation-focused businesses and help generate an additional AED 160 billion by 2030.”

The Dubai Industrial Strategy showcases an industrial sector growth of an additional AED 18 billion by 2030, creating 27,000 jobs with exports forecast to increase by AED 16 billion. Meanwhile, investment in research and development will increase by an additional AED 700 million by 2030.
