Jeddah: The 14th edition of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Global Forum on Islamic Finance will discuss unleashing the potential of Islamic Finance to develop smart economies for the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Scheduled to be held on 4 April 2019 in Marrakesh, Morocco, the forum is being organized by the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) in conjunction with the 44th IsDB Group Annual Meeting.
The IsDB Global Forum on Islamic Finance is a yearly event that discusses ways of harnessing the potential of Islamic Finance to address contemporary development issues.
This year’s edition of the forum, under the theme “Developing Smart Economies for Sustainable Development”, will have panel discussions focusing on IRTI’s new initiatives on nurturing future knowledge leaders and developing smart economies in IsDB member countries.
Panel sessions will highlight the role of future knowledge leaders and smart economies in achieving the SDGs. The sessions will further foster understanding of the role of Islamic Finance in leveraging technologies to develop talents and smart economies towards meeting the targets of the 2030 Global Agenda for Sustainable Development.
This year’s IsDB Global Forum on Islamic Finance will also feature the launching of the Djibouti Islamic Finance Country Report, produced by IRTI as part of the Islamic Finance Country Reports series.
