LONDON- Saudi Aramco's chief executive said on Tuesday that the Safaniya oilfield was back online, after what industry sources had said was a partial shutdown earlier this month.
Amin Nasser, CEO of Aramco, made the comment in London at an industry event.
Safaniya is the largest offshore oilfield in the world, with a capacity of more than 1 million barrels per day. It produces heavy crude oil.
Reuters reported on Friday, citing two trade sources, that Aramco had finished repairs at the field, allowing full output to resume.
