Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index closed Sunday in the red after plunging 84.5 points, or 0.85%, to 9,896.74 points.

The QSE’s trading volume retreated 51.1% to 3.59 million shares, from 7.34 million shares on Thursday, while liquidity tumbled 54.2% to QAR 84.62 million, compared to QAR 184.93 million.

The insurance sector fell 2.2%, followed by real estate with 1.93%, and telecoms with 0.01%.

Qatar Insurance’s stock was the worst performer with 3.33%, whereas Investment Holding Group’s stock levelled up 2.2%.

Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, down 2.23%, led in terms of traded value, generating QAR 20.47 million, while Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development’s stock, up 1.4%, topped the market in terms of trading volume after 491,900 shares were exchanged.
