Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s trading session on a positive note, registering the highest level in 14 months.
The general index hiked 1.54%, or 151.4 points, to finish at 9,976.51 points.
The bourse’s liquidity decreased 35.2% to QAR 238.57 million on Wednesday from QAR 368.38 million on Tuesday, while the trading volume went down 35.1% to 6.65 million shares against 10.24 million in the previous session.
The real estate sector topped the QSE’s five gainers adding 6.15%.
On the other hand, the transportation sector headed the bourse’s losers falling 0.08%, followed by the telecommunication sector, which inched down 0.07%.
By the end of the session, the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which grew 2.3%, headed the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 60.51 million, while Ezdan Holding Group’s stock led the market in terms of trading volume with 1.29 million shares.
