Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Monday’s trading session in green territory, encouraged by the growth of six sectors.
The general index rose 99.28 points, or 1.06%, to finish at 9,439.97 points.
The bourse’s liquidity increased to QAR 217.93 million on Monday from QAR 110.05 million on Sunday, while the trading volume decreased to 7.48 million shares against 4.85 million in the previous session.
The industrial sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 2.46% after Industries Qatar jumped 4.74%.
Similarly, the banking sector grew 0.61%, boosted by the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) 1.24% increase.
On the flipside, the transportation sector was the bourse’s only decliner falling 0.24% as Qatar Gas Transport (Nakilat) went down 0.69%.
By the end of the session, Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which advanced 3.08%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 3.4 million shares, while QNB’s stock led the market in terms of liquidity with a turnover of QAR 39.6 million.
