Kuwait’s currency notes and coins increased by 5% month-on-month, or KWD 90 million, to KWD 1.89 billion in April from KWD 1.80 billion, according to recent data released by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).
Currency notes amounted to KWD 1.86 billion, while the value of coins reached KWD 28 million, the CBK’s data showed.
Month-on-month, the KWD 20-note rose 4.4%, or KWD 47 million, to KWD 1.097 billion from KWD 1.1 billion in March.
The KWD 10-note grew by KWD 9.2 million to KWD 583 million in April, compared to KWD 573 million a month earlier, while the value of KWD 5-note jumped by KWD 13.6 million to KWD 100.4 million against KWD 86.9 million.
The KWD 1-note levelled up KWD 13.8 million, logging KWD 55.4 million in April, compared to KWD 41.6 million in March.
The KWD 0.50-note rose KWD 2.7 million to KWD 15.7 million from KWD 12.9 million, while the KWD 0.25-note hiked by KWD 2.4 million to KWD 12.4 million versus KWD 10 million.
Meanwhile, the value of coins inched up 0.6% to KWD 28.1 million in April, compared to KWD 27.9 million in the previous month.
The 50-fils increased by KWD 55 million month-on-month to KWD 8.82 billion in April, versus KWD 8.77 billion, while the 20-fils rose KWD 21 million to KWD 3.75 billion, compared to KWD 3.73 billion.
