The Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) halted trading activities on Wednesday, 22 February 2023, in celebration of the Saudi Founding Day, according to a bourse disclosure.
Meanwhile, the market's trading operations will resume on Thursday, 23 February.
It is worth noting that the new annual holiday commemorates the ascendancy to power of Mohammed bin Saud, who founded the first Saudi State in 1727.
Last year, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued a royal decree to mark 22 February as the founding day of the Saudi State.
The occasion is different from the Saudi National Day, which is celebrated on 22 September every year.
