The board of directors of Saudi-based Basic Chemical Industries Co has approved the appointment of Ala Abdullah Abdulkarim Al-Shaikh as CEO as of March 1, 2021.

He replaces Abdulatif Azmi Abdulatif Abdulhadi who was acting CEO, the company said in a filing on Tadawul, where it is listed. However, Abdulhadi will remain a member of the board of directors and a member of the nominations and remuneration committee, the statement said.
