RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Tanmiah Food Company aims to plant one million trees by the year of 2025, in support of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The company started the second phase of its One Million Tree Initiative, which was launched in March 2019. It had already planted 200,000 trees in Shaqra region, it said in a statement.

The initiative’s impact includes the elimination of 1.2B KGs of Carbon dioxide (CO2); 10B liters of waste water and 1B KGs of solid waste recycled.

Tanmiah’s efforts come as the company seeks to create an innovative and a sustainable circular approach to achieve zero-net emissions. It will use treated water from poultry waste and treated bio-organic manure will also be used to plant and irrigate trees.
