KUWAIT CITY: The teachers who are stranded abroad and whose residence permits have expired will be allowed to enter the country after Aug 15, 2021, reports Al-Rai daily quoting education sources.
The same sources indicate the administrative sector of the Ministry of Education has provided the Ministry of Interior the names of teachers whose residency has expired to issue them temporary entry visas to enter the country.
The source emphasized there are no problems for the return of stranded teachers, provided that they meet the conditions set by the Council of Ministers.
The source explained the administrative sector has finished renewing the residencies of all expatriate teachers, which will expire before October 21, while at the same time addressing the Public Institute for Social Security to complete procedures for compulsory retirement for those who have served 34 years in a supervisory position.
Meanwhile, many students at Kuwait University posted the slogan, ‘half-value‘ sale, on their personal social media accounts to encourage their fellow students to buy used textbooks during the summer semester, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Students are gearing towards buying used books for various reasons, the most common of which is the library’s delayed delivery of books due to the large number of requests.
The library started receiving book purchase requests on the first school day of the summer semester last week. It also charges delivery fees for students who want to buy books.
The library disclosed the purchase and payment operations are carried out electronically, while ensuring that students do not visit its headquarters as part of measures being taken to curb the spread of corona.
It set Aug 15 for the processing of requests that encountered technical errors during the purchase period, indicating that appointments should be booked through the ‘Matta’ platform.
