Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday highlighted the importance of benefiting from the Kingdom’s tourist characteristics and exerting efforts to attract religious tourists from various countries.

Heading a meeting of the Senate Tourism Committee with Tourism Minister Nayef Fayez, President Fayez called for supporting the tourism sector and providing all necessary needs to develop the sector and help it overcome the pandemic crisis, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Senate president also called for focusing on Gulf and non-Arab tourists and promoting the Kingdom in southeastern Asia countries, in addition to providing all needs required by tourists in all tourist sites.

Head of the committee Senator Nidal Qatamine expressed the panels’ keenness to cooperate with the ministry in serving the sector and realising public interests, urging stakeholders to find successful solutions to lower the costs of domestic and medical tourism.

The tourism minister pointed out that the National Tourism Strategy accords with the government’s economic action priorities that included the tourism sector.
