The first meeting of directors of police academies and security training institutes in Arab countries, hosted by the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in Riyadh, kicked off Monday as part of the implementation of the recommendations of the 11th Conference of Heads of Security Training and Qualification Institutions and 23 participants from 13 Arab countries, including Kuwait, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Qatar, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Morocco and Mauritania, participated in the meeting, reports Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The meeting discussed many items, including strengthening Arab partnerships in the scientific, training and research fields, which was discussed in the context of exchanging experiences and presenting best practices in those fields to serve comprehensive Arab security issues, achieving a degree of integration and cooperation between security training academies and institutes in Arab countries, and establishing a base for Arab experts in the fields. The meeting also discussed the existence of a strong information reference that contributes to decision making processes, providing information to enrich the security research process, providing databases that contribute to planning and forecasting processes, approving the periodicity of the meeting, and ensuring continuity of coordination and cooperation in the educational, training and research fields.
