AMMAN — Royal Jordanian (RJ) Airlines’ flight RJ 508 from Cairo to Amman was forced to make an emergency landing at Amman's Queen Alia International Airport 10 minutes before its scheduled landing time, according to an RJ statement sent to The Jordan Times on Monday.

The statement noted that the landing was successful on the main runway.

All 133 passengers and six crew members of the flight were evacuated on the “precautionary supporting runway” and transferred to the airport building by bus while taking all preventive safety measures.

RJ is currently working with the concerned authorities to determine the reason behind the error, according to the statement.
