ArabFinance: The Egyptian Ministry of Culture launched the “Art for Charity” Initiative to support “Tahya Misr” Fund in combating coronavirus challenges, according to a Cabinet statement published on May 5th.

Under the new initiative, more than 100 artists will donate the value of their artistic works for the government hospitals to contribute in overcoming the repercussions of coronavirus, Culture Minister Enas Abdel-Dayem said.

The initiative was initially launched by film director Waheed Mekhemar on his Facebook page.

Abdel-Dayem said the ministry continues to play its role in supporting the ideas and targets of the initiative to achieve the public good.

In 2019, the minister was honored in the BT100 ceremony for protecting Egypt’s culture and promoting it on international platforms.
