Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), and Maj Gen Matar bin Salim al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), went on tour to military units deployed in the Governorates of North and South Al Batinah.

Those units are deployed as part of the responsibilities of the military subcommittees in the two governorates.

The two military officials met with the heads of the two subcommittees originating from the Main Military Committee for Emergency Management and in coordination with the National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM).

SAF Chief of Staff commended the efforts exerted in lending all means of support in rescue operations, providing water and various other food supplies, as well as contributing in reopening and rehabilitating damaged roads. He urged everyone to harness all efforts and capabilities, in coordination and cooperation with other government units, to restore normalcy.

During the field visit, the two military officials met with Maj Gen Abdullah bin Ali al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations and Deputy Chairman of the NCEM. Al Harthy gave a briefing on assessing the current situation, the steps previously taken, as well as requirements of the current phase to get things back to normalcy. The military subcommittees continue activating operation plans as per instructions of the Main Military Committee for Emergency Management and the NCEM.
