The Ministry of Health has begun paying the 500 dinars ‘special’ monthly increase for Kuwaiti and expatriate doctors who work in intensive care, anesthesia and emergency departments in government health facilities retroactively as of July 1, 2021, reports Al- Anba daily. The daily quoting health sources said more than 1,000 Kuwaiti and expatriate doctors will benefit from the raise. The sources indicated that this came after the Civil Service Commission agreed to grant this special monthly increase to each of the doctors in the abovementioned category.

This is in addition to all the items of the comprehensive monthly salary rule which is in force. Meanwhile, a new set of controls for granting allowances to government employees is expected to be submitted soon to the Civil Service Council for approval, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting reliable source. The sources say this trend comes within the framework of the government’s policy of streamlining spending which coincides with the fiscal deficit in the public budget and stopping what it called ‘waste’. The sources stressed this approach guarantees stopping any potential financial waste by ‘some’, stressing that the authorities, according to the new mechanism, are obliged to provide actual evidence when paying allowances and entitlements noting at the same time that the financial allowances must be related to the nature of work.
