AMMAN — The second phase of repatriating Jordanian students and citizens stranded abroad concluded on Monday, with a total of 18 flights carrying 3,572 passengers to the Kingdom from 12 countries.

Director of Airport Security and Protection Brig. Gen. Khaled Shantir highlighted the efforts of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and various security agencies, government institutions and Queen Alia International Airport in this regard, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

JAF personnel applied precautionary measures within a “tight plan”, which was implemented under the guidance and direct follow-up of the army chief to ensure halting the outbreak of COVID-19.

After each flight, the airport was also sterilised and disinfected as part of the preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The arrivals lauded the efforts and “distinguished performance” of the JAF and other relevant entities in receiving Jordanian students and citizens stranded abroad, Petra added.
