The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has granted an international training license to four Saudi trainers from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
This brings the number of Saudi trainers accredited internationally in the field of aviation security to seven, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The licenses reflect the ability of qualified Saudi cadres who are capable of exchanging experiences and highlighting the role of GACA as an effective partner in the civil aviation industry at the international level.
GACA indicated that it has provided many programs aimed at developing and training national cadres according to the highest international standards, noting that the international achievement clearly reflects the Kingdom's expertise that contributed permanently to the development of the field of civil aviation. This will also enhance the Kingdom's leading role in the field of aviation security internationally and support training and capacity building programs organized by the ICAO.
Saudi Arabia continues to provide technical and material support to ICAO’s programs and plans, plus the participation of Saudi experts in specialized working groups and committees. Saudi Arabia also hosts the permanent headquarters of the ICAO Regional Safety Oversight Organization for Mena (Mena RSOO). This is in addition to hosting and financing the permanent headquarters of the ICAO’s Cooperative Aviation Security Program - Middle East (CASP-MID).
