The British Archaeological Mission in Aswan on Sunday has discovered six tombs which are dating back to the Old Kingdom in Ancient Egypt, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri said.

The Mission which is wokring in Qubbet el-Hawa project stated that tombs are in different sizes as they are ranging from ranging from 190 x 285 centimetres and 352 x 635 centimetres, Waziri added.

Two of them are with a carved entrance in the rock, while one is with a sound entrance and it also comprises entrance to its burial chamber.

“A fragment of a funerary mask was found inside a tomb, a small metal amulet showing the god Khnum, and a large quantity of pottery, some of which are still preserved, Which dates back to the late era,” the project's director Martin Bommas noted.

All which were discovered were transferred to the storehouse in Aswan, Abdul Moneim Said, Director General of the Aswan Antiquities concluded.
