Muscat: The Public Prosecution has announced on Wednesday that whoever violates the Ministry of Health’s quarantine procedures will be legally prosecuted.

According to Public Prosecution, this applies to the person who is diagnosed with the virus and those who are in contact with the patient and are quarantined.

A statement issued online by the Public Prosecution said: “Coronavirus is one of the diseases mentioned in the first section of the table attached to the Law of Infectious Diseases, and the isolation of infected or in contact with patients in the place determined by the Ministry of Health.”

“Anyone who violates the isolation procedures, is considered a perpetrator of a criminal crime that requires legal prosecution.” The statement added.
