AMMAN Coldplay fans in Jordan have expressed disappointment and anger over ticket sales for the upcoming concert on Saturday at the Amman Citadel.

Ticket sales were scheduled to open on Wednesday night at 11pm, but the server of the e-ticketing site Karasi.com went down the moment the sale started. When it went back online on Thursday morning, the tickets were already sold out, several fans told The Jordan Times on Wednesday.

Dalia, a Jordanian fan based in Amman, who was not able to get a ticket, said: I heard a lot of people talking about corruption, that only the elite were able to purchase Coldplay tickets.

Its not the first time these companies have not taken into consideration the general public. International bands rarely come to Jordan and Jordanians are not able to travel abroad that much. The corporations should take this into consideration, she told The Jordan Times.

Natalie, a Jordanian based in Amman, also told The Jordan Times on Wednesday that she set her alarm to catch the sale, and at 11pm, the website asked her to fill in her information, but crashed when she wanted to proceed to the payment.

I stayed awake until 12:30am and even got up at dawn to check again. Ive been a big fan since I was 10 years old, she said, adding: I dont think the problem here is corruption, but a lack of visibility. Now, a lot of radio stations are having competitions and you can win tickets. Why didnt you tell us before? This makes people go crazy now.

Many took to social media to express their frustration, calling for the band to react.

One Twitter user tweeted: @coldplay needs to at least say something about this whole messup.

Another user wrote: @coldplay it's not about a big or small show. The event vendors and their inside people are literally the only ones attending your concert! That's not fair! We locals were not even given the opportunity to buy your tickets!
