Ride-hailing app Careem now enables Dubai users to arrange for a DHA-licensed nurse to come to their home, office or hotel to administer a PCR test.

Nurses are available to come to homes, offices or hotels to administer the test with results available in 24 hours. Careem is anticipating increasing demand for the tests as the summer travel season begins, more countries start allowing tourists and Expo 2020 begins in October. The tests will cost AED 199 ($54), according to a statement from Careem.

Adeeb Warsi, managing director of platforms at Careem said: “The addition of PCR services being launched on the Careem app is an exciting moment for us as we further expand on our existing partnership with Justmop.

“The service will allow customers to easily make a booking using their linked card or Careem Pay, facilitating a convenient and seamless experience.

“As we anticipate an increase in demand for PCR testing with Expo on the horizon, we believe this launch will create more value for customers, with yet another valuable service available on the app.”

Global ride-sharing app Uber announced in April that it would give free rides to customers seeking the COVID-19 vaccine at Mediclinic centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
