The Austrian Ministry of Tourism and Agriculture has announced further easing of measures to almost completely restore the freedom to travel, with plans to allow visitors from more than 110 countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman.
By July 1, Austria will be switching to the system of the Robert Koch Institute instead of the currently used map by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control to classify countries as “risk” or “high risk”. The so-called “RKI list” identifies more than 110 countries as “risk areas”, and there will be no quarantine requirement for vaccinated, recovered or tested travellers arriving in Austria from these defined countries.
As of 28th May 2021, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman are categorised in the “risk” category, meaning that entry to Austria will be possible from these countries.
The list continues to be evaluated on a regular basis by the Robert Koch Institute and is subject to change depending on the epidemiological development in each country.
Further details on issuance of Schengen visas as well as the exact date the above planned measures will come into effect will be shared as soon as they become available. - TradeArabia News Service
